ABOUT THE PROJECT
The purpose of the project is to popularize and promote regional heritage included in unique collection of photographs gathered by Władysław Paszkowski.
The project will be entitled Paszkowski’s Collecion. The carrier of polish identity and protection of national heritage. It’s result should be popularization of scientific works concerned monument’s conservation, restoration and protection and also popularization of regional sources of national culture in society. The project was co-financed from state budget funds granted by the Minister of Education and Science within the framework of the Science for Society II Program.
The project assumes popularization of the Paszkowski’s photographs in scientific environment and, more importantly, in societies and institutions not connected with science. Aforementioned photos were stored in Władysław Paszkowski’s private collection. He was a conservator of monuments who documented polish cultural heritage beginning after the World War Two until to the 70’. He was focusing especially on north-eastern part of Poland.
This project concerns arrangement and scientific description of the photographs from the Paszkowski’s collection and the sharing them in open access, free-of-charge and without technical limitations.
The private collection of Władysław Paszkowski and his associates, after being published in open access, will be used as a source material for scientific researches, popularization of regional history and regional historical heritage. It could also has a very practical usage – as an unique source material which can help conservators of monuments in their everyday job, especially with reconstruction of polish monuments.
